The Hamilton Spectator

No more photos of Ryerson’s head

Recently I watched the news and saw a picture the head of a Ryerson statue painted red at the 1492 Land Back Lane site. Today you have a photo of this same scene in the Spectator. I am appalled. I understand some of the feelings behind this, but these pictures remind me of postings of the heads of people murdered by terrorists. So barbaric!

There will be lots of discussion about what to do about recent events, but showing these photos brings out the worst in us and do not belong in a civilized society.

This piece of statue needs to be removed from public sight. Talk about hate crime. Thank you for allowing me to vent.
