Smells like Cootes Paradise

Many Hamiltonians from all walks of life are against building an LRT for a host of concerns (environmental impact, cost to operate, the need for a fixed rail system, etc.). We have been bullied by some city councillors and by certain letter writers.

This same scenario played out years ago during the debate on building the Red Hill Valley Parkway (RHVP). Go online and use the search term “Red Hill and the Politics of Division” to see how the contentious RHVP was approved, and how its many opponents were vilified. Then connect the dots and relationships. You will see these same bullying tactics are being used by certain city councillors for the LRT approval. This smells as bad as the rot in Cootes Paradise (no pun intended).
