Cyclist, 84, injured in hit-and-run

A cyclist in his 80s was injured in a hit-and-run in Dundas Tuesday afternoon. At about 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday, police and emergency services responded to a collision involving a vehicle and a cyclist on Old Ancaster Road north of Dundana Avenue. The cyclist, an 84year-old man, had cuts and scrapes along with “a large laceration” at the back of his head, Hamilton police Const. Indy Bharaj said in an email. The cyclist was taken to hospital, where his injuries were determined to be non-life-threatening, police said. The vehicle did not stay at the scene after the crash, Bharaj added. Police continue to investigate, he said.
