Corelife Wellness shines a light on better core and pelvic health

Did you know that 50 per cent of women experience incontinence at some point in their lifetime? Some professionals would even argue that it’s more. However, it’s a subject that can be difficult to talk about, even with a health care provider.

That’s why half of women only seek help for incontinence more than six years after their first symptom. The rest just learn to live with it. After all, aren’t those little spritzes just a fact of life? They aren’t, and the team at Corelife Wellness is on a mission to ensure that women (and men) know that while urinary incontinence is common, it is not normal - and it can be corrected.

Corelife Wellness is home to the Libby Pelvic Chair - their name for Emsella, a ground-breaking treatment to improve pelvic health for women and men.

“The Libby chair helps to resolve several pelvic health dysfunctions, specifically urine leakage and prolapse,” says Brittney Legere, manager of Corelife Wellness. “This treatment uses Emsella, also known as the Kegel chair, combined with standardized pelvic health care and a tailored curriculum to help our clients maintain their results after treatment.”

Patients feel empowered to take back their lives, with 95 per cent reporting a better quality of life.

Founded by two women with their own stories of pelvic health challenges, Corelife Wellness opened in March 2020. They’ve created a welcoming and supportive environment where women can feel comfortable discussing the issues holding them back from living life to the fullest.

“We’ve all heard that these issues are inevitable after pregnancy or menopause, but that couldn’t be further from the truth,” explains Legere. “We’re inspired every day by seeing our clients get back to their routine and reach their goals.”

Poor pelvic health is characterised by symptoms such as leaking urine, pelvic pain, and pelvic organ prolapse. It is also linked to increased risk of falls in seniors and leads to overactive bladder causing frequent trips to the washroom - day and night. The team at Corelife Wellness is committed to helping patients take back their lives with a holistic approach to treatment that is comfortable, non-invasive and doesn’t involve surgery or medication.

The first step is an in-depth consultation to determine the unique needs of each patient. Each staff member has specialized training in the latest pelvic and core health treatments. Clients can trust they are in the best care when they choose Corelife Wellness. Glowing testimonials from past and present Corelife Wellness clients speak for themselves.

“It was a positive, enlightening and relaxed experience. I’m glad I made the appointment and certainly will recommend it to others.”

Libby Chair Pelvic Therapy is just one of the treatment options offered by Corelife Wellness. “Soon after opening, we realized a need to address another condition that often goes untreated in women postpartum,” says Legere. Diastasis rectus abdominis - or DRA is a condition that affects the abdominal muscles, resulting in a slight bulge along the midline of the abdomen in mild cases and hernia in severe ones. “Alongside lead researchers in the industry, we developed our Venus Ab Rehab treatment specifically for DRA,” adds Legere.

Venus Ab Rehab can strengthen abs or aid in hernia repair using Emsculpt, which is well-known for its use in cosmetic body sculpting. Venus Ab Rehab uses the same technology for rehabilitation of the abdominal wall without strenuous exercise.

In addition to treatment options for improving pelvic and core health, Corelife Wellness offers a series of workshops and consultations to aid in regaining core strength and wellness. They want to shine a light on the problems that many women live with unnecessarily. They have heard it all and are not shy to talk about it.
