PARTY: New Democratic Party

OCCUPATION: Electrician RESIDENCE: Glanbrook PAST POLITICAL EXPERIENCE: Business manager of International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 105 from 201120. In this role, Newick dealt with various provincial and federal government ministries, including the Ministry of Labour and Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities, as well as the Ontario College of Trades. Most of his interaction was dealing with apprenticeship training, licensing and certification, as well as health and safety for the compulsory trades.

HAVE YOU BEEN VACCINATED? I have been double vaccinated for COVID-19. I did this to help prevent the spread of the virus, and also to protect myself as well as those around me from becoming infected. When I’m not in Ottawa representing the people in the community, I would be organizing town hall meetings where residents could come to discuss issues and concerns they have regarding the area.”

OCCUPATION: Communications/PR professional RESIDENCE: Lynden

PAST POLITICAL EXPERIENCE: Over the years, Muys has worked on Parliament Hill and at Queen’s Park. He has worked in the federal leaders’ office. In FlamboroughGlanbrook, he has worked with MP David Sweet, who isn’t seeking re-election, and MPP Donna Skelly. HAVE YOU BEEN VACCINATED? Yes, double vaccinated. Our household is doublevaccinated and we encourage others to do the same. It’s the best way to protect those around us, seniors and loved ones as well as ourselves. Vaccination is a key tool to get us out of this pandemic.

IF ELECTED, I PLEDGE TO: “Post-pandemic, continue to attract more jobs and opportunities locally so people can work and enjoy quality of life right here in Flamborough without commuting. In rural areas, reliable internet connectivity is absolutely crucial. We’ll fix this. My wife and I know this first-hand at our own home near Lynden.”

OCCUPATION: Retired RESIDENCE: Hamilton PAST POLITICAL EXPERIENCE: Sgro has worked on a number of local Liberal campaigns. He also ran for mayor in Hamilton’s 2018 municipal election. HAVE YOU BEEN VACCINATED? Yes. Getting vaccinated is important for your health, and for the health and well-being of your friends and neighbours. IF ELECTED, I PLEDGE TO: “Put the needs of the residents of Flamborough-Glanbrook first, by advocating for expanded child care, fixing our longterm-care sector, securing transit investments and supporting our agricultural sector. It has been a challenging time, and I understand the importance of recovery and the need to help local industries rebuild and succeed.”

PARTY: People’s Party of Canada

OCCUPATION: Dispatcher RESIDENCE: East Hamilton/ Stoney Creek

PAST POLITICAL EXPERIENCE: The 2021 federal election marks Panchyshyn’s first political campaign. HAVE YOU BEEN VACCINATED? Yes, fully vaccinated. I’m COVID vaccinated because I believe in minimizing the risk of getting COVID or, at the very least, if I should happen to contract it, my symptoms will hopefully be less severe.

IF ELECTED, I PLEDGE TO: “Push hard for fiscal policy that respects — not wastes — taxpayers’ dollars, contains minimal but preferably no deficits and balances budgets yearover-year, making Canada a more attractive destination for foreign investment by private enterprise.”

OCCUPATION: Stay-at-home father, full-time online business student

RESIDENCE: Binbrook PAST POLITICAL EXPERIENCE: None.

HAVE YOU BEEN VACCINATED? Yes. My wife and I wanted to be vaccinated, along with our two oldest children, to protect our family, loved ones and neighbours. We felt being part of a solution to get Canada out of the COVID-19 pandemic was the right thing to do; adhere to medical guidelines and minimize or eliminate physical contact, short-term, to ensure as many Canadians have a long term.

IF ELECTED, I PLEDGE TO: “Push for climate accountability through an active voice in Parliament, holding whichever government who controls the House of Commons accountable for irresponsible spending and policies, which do not meet international agreements, and ensure that there is a future for our children, grandchildren and beyond.
