Call to activists

My wife and I frequently walk around Bayfront Park and it saddens me to see the encampment across from Hutch’s Restaurant and to see these people living in such horrific conditions. I know this issue is top of conversation right now, and if we could only find a solution to this many-layered problem. Unfortunately, some of these people just refuse all help but to think the answer given by activists is to leave them be and respect their rights just doesn’t sit well when you think of the harsh winter conditions coming. Maybe there is a shortterm solution. Activists, here is your call to action. Each one of you, please take a homeless person under your wing and provide them with food and shelter. If you believe they should remain in these encampments, then it’s on you to ensure their safety. Bruce Speck, Hamilton
