Hamilton man sought in shooting death on Manitoulin Island

Warrant issued for Hanif Duncan

A 20-year-old Hamilton man is wanted for second-degree murder in connection with a fatal shooting at Sheguiandah First Nation on Manitoulin Island.

Ontario Provincial Police said in a release the shooting occurred around 11:45 p.m. June 24 at an address on Wiingush Miikan.

Cheyenne Malcom Roy, 32, of Sheguiandah First Nation was taken to hospital where he later died.

Police issued an arrest warrant Monday for Hamilton’s Hanif Duncan. He is described as Black, between five-foot-eight and fivefoot-10, with a slim build and long dreadlocks.

Investigators believe the shooting was targeted.

Police are asking the public to call 911 or 1-888-310-1122 if they see Duncan or have knowledge of his whereabouts.
