Police in Brantford have charged an 18year-old with first-degree murder in connection with the death of a 60-year-old man.

In a news release, police said officers responded to a disturbance at a home on Henry Street, near Stanley Street in Brantford, around 7:30 p.m. Thursday.

Emergency services found a man with life-threatening injuries. The 60-year-old was transported to hospital, but later died.

Police said his name is being withheld “out of respect for the family,” according to the release.

Aedyn Pickering, 18, of Brantford, was arrested at the home and has been charged with firstdegree murder. He appeared in bail court Friday morning and remains in custody.

Pickering and the victim were known to each other, according to the release. Police are not searching for any other suspects.

Investigators remain at the Henry Street scene as the investigation continues.
