Media bias

Regarding “Mainstream media serves Canada well” (Nov. 28): I would like to thank the author for his view that Canada’s mainstream media is unbiased. I could not disagree more. I subscribe to The Spectator as well other of periodicals. I should not be able to discern the views of the journalist on controversial matters. I read an article about protests surrounding gender issues on Hamilton’s CBC website. The author gave no credence to views that are now not mainstream. There was no attempt to present another view. Walter Cronkite, considered by many the dean of objective journalistic integrity, upheld those standards. I wish it applied to modern journalism. Wally Boonstra, Carlisle
