A popular Halton hangout is opening in downtown Hamilton, joining the Augusta Street restaurant scene.

Plank Restobar has moved into the ground floor of new hotel, The Laundry Rooms, next to Pheasant Plucker.

The restaurant name might sound familiar to anyone who frequents Oakville’s lakeshore. Plank is among half a dozen eateries and a catering business operated by Catch Hospitality Group in the Bronte neighbourhood.

Augusta’s Plank will open a little more than 10 years after its sister restaurant, which features “small plates, great music and a fine selection of beers, wine and bourbons,” the website says.

Their food focus is “fresh, locally sourced, in-season,” with an October 2022 menu offering “bits and bites,” such as Reuben egg rolls, fried chicken steamed buns and pumpkin hummus with pizza bread.

They also offer mains and pizzas, including their foraged mushroom “Shroomin’ Out.”

Boozy options — at Plank’s Bronte location at least — are for guests 21-plus, unless accompanied by a parent.
