Self-serving benevolence

A real opportunity was missed when the discussion about using volunteers at Tim Hortons failed to talk about how the charities they support exist to support people who work for corporations that refuse to increase wages. They fight against the minimum wage. Remove benefits and only hire for part-time positions. Charities are created so that corporations can demonstrate their benevolent side.
