‘Whataboutism’ is a loser argument

I laughed out loud reading the letter from the Dundas reader who is offended because there are so many letters in The Spectator critical of the Ford government. He thinks The Spectator is weaponizing public opinion, but that is truly stupid. Driving public opinion is the fact that Ford has shown repeatedly he is a liar and proud of it. Greenbelt, anyone? Then the letter writer lamely tries to play whataboutism regarding the Liberals and NDP — that’s the last refuge of the hopelessly defeated argument.
